As soon as results of Elpitiya election results were released public in several areas in the island celebrated their joy. In the process member of parliament Mrs. Geetha Kumarasingha had represented Benthara - Elpitiya and was in parliament for sometime from the Eksath Janatha Nidahas Sandhanaya too expressed her joy concerning the victory. 

Expressing her ideas what she said was that she considers this as a victory achieved by her. She also
said that it was not an easy task for those who tried to put a stop to her political journey. She finally added that till Benthara - Elpitiya people are there ... she would achieve victory.
