Whatever it is, it is understood that the rivals have been strategical enough to bring the law to the forefront and the case would open up on the 2nd and if an interim order is secured on the 3rd, it would be an obstacle for Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to come forward as a presidential candidate. As a consequence, a hasty call for discussion has been launched well in advance as a party.
Among names nominated so far as alternate candidates it is former speaker Chamal Rajapaksa who is at the forefront as reported by the media network closest to Wimal Weeravansha.
