8th elephant found killed in Habarana! Death ... from gunshot injuries!

The corpse of an elephant found dead from gunshot injuries was found early this morning in Habarana, Asiri. It was in Habarana that 6 she elephants and an elephant were found dead during the last few days ... having been poisoned. However, it was not in that manner that the earlier referred to elephant has died. It was from gunshot injuries! Wild life officers of Ganewelpala have found the
body of this particular elephant. It was revealed that some person has aimed gunshots at the animal. 

This morning, a villager who had gone to inspect his cultivation had notice the dead elephant and has informed about it to Ganewelpala wild life office. Subsequently, on an investigation conducted by wild life officers, it was found that an elephant aged approximately 45 years was found dead in this manner. Wild life officers who said that several gunshots had been targeted at the elephant's head and its back and as a result this wild elephant would have died last evening (29). It is reported that one gunshot aimed at its head has emerged from the mouth region of the wild elephant.
