"If son's life is threatened ... prisons commissioner is responsible!" -- Mother of Wele Suda complains about Wele Suda who is under death sentence

Wele Suda's mother has lodged a complaint with Borella police last morning (26) saying that her son who is stationed at Welikada prisons sentenced to death over charges of narcotics has been transferred to Boossa prison sometime back and that if he faces any threat to his life the prisons commissioner should hold himself totally responsible for it.

In this regard a spokesman of Borella police said that though such a complaint was received by
Borella police Wele Suda is by now detained at Boossa prisons and therefore Borella police is not able to take action in that respect. He also said that the petition referred to was directed last afternoon to Rathgama police station belonging to the area where Wele Suda is stationed.  It was also reported by police that a copy of the said petition forwarded by Wele Suda's mother was sent for the attention of prisons commissioner general. 

When queried over this matter from prison's commissioner general, he responded saying that according to a complaint made to prisons department by the President to take necessary action to detain prisoners who were convicted for punishment regarding narcotics dealing, organised crime, over 20 prisoners inclusive of Wele Suda were sent to Boossa prison by prison department.
