20 year old Kavisha who was murdered ... having come for friend's support

Further information has been reported about the incident where a schoolgirl was mysteriously murdered inside a hotel room in Melsiripura. The 22 year old youth by the name of Adhikari Mudiyanselage Kasun Pradeep who was responsible for the murder is by now under police custody and according to his confession the girl who was involved in a romance with him had left him saying that he does not have money and with the motive of resuming the alliance he had done all this, he has
said. 

The 22 year old youth was living in Periyakadunelawa, Ihalagama, Kurunegala. He had received his ordination for a temporary period of three months has subsequently left his monkhood had been serving as a helper in the same temple and has later gone for a job in a garment factory. There he has got involved with a girl called Imasha in Karadagolla, Melsiripura. She had become a friend of deceased Kavisha at a private tuition class. 

It is understood that from the time the girl in the garment factory came to know that suspect Kasun was a helper at the temple her interest in him has begun to fade. She having told him, "You have no income to live and we will not be able to look forward to a future", she has given him the boot, so to say. The suspect who seriously suffered from this heartache because of having lost his love, it was last 27th that he had gone to the extent of robbing the van belonging to the incumbent of the temple and even steal a cash sum of over Rs. one lakh. He has thus thought that he would be able to get back his lost love  by flaunting the money and the van. With this thought in mind he has even booked a hotel room in advance with the hope of spending time there for a few days. 

He has thus with the money he has and the van he has robbed has made her get into the vehicle saying that it is his vehicle asking her to go for a round with him. However she had smelt something fishy about Kasun her lover and on noticing cash notes and a knife in the vehicle she has got into a fright and asked him to drop her from the vehicle. However he has not agreed to her request. On that she has thrown one of those bundles of cash notes on to the road and in that instance when the lover has got down from the vehicle to pick it, she has taken advantage of it and Imasha has beat a retreat. Later she has made a complaint to Mahawa police. 

He was not able to pursue behind his lover who fled from the vehicle because she had towards a crowd and asked for help and was scared at that moment. In any case since she had forgotten her mobile phone in the process, he had made use of the opportunity and Kasun thus began calling numbers on the phone. He has called the number of one Kavish saying, "Kavisha, your friend has got involved in a problem ... she is stuck in a hotel in Melsiripura. Aney come and help me as a friend". Having believed news about her friend Kavisha she had said that she could come the following day as she was at a private class at that moment. Accordingly this sorrowful incident about Kavisha who has gone to the spot indicated by Kasun the next day. This twenty year old girl who thus volunteered to help her friend who had fallen into trouble on information received ultimately was deflowered by a sinful youth who had no heart and even had to forego her life in the end losing her life which incident was reported last 30th. Suspect Kasun had taken her to a room and after giving her something to render her unconscious and had committed this crime, it was confirmed from inquiries already conducted. An employee in the hotel has heard Kavisha shouting from the room in the hotel and had gone to inquire about it when on that occasion suspect Kasun had said, "This is a problem between us ... so don't get upset" and sent him away, it is reported. 

On a complaint made to Gokarella police by workers of the said hotel to the effect that there is a corpse of a young girl mysteriously murdered in a hotel in Kurunegala Melsiripura hotel after inquiries made by police the dead body was found. According to data secured by the hotel, the 22 year old Adhikari Mudiyanselage Kasun Pradeep the suspect of Periyakadunelawa, Ihalagama, Kurunegala was taken into police custody as being linked to this incident on 30th night itself. After he was produced before Kurunegala magistrate's court it was ordered to remand the suspect till 8th of this month by chief magistrate, Mr. Sampath Hewawasam. 

The deceased in this incident is a 20 year old girl named W.P. Kavisha of Nawathalwaththa, Alawwa and she was preparing to sit for her G.C.E. A/L examination for the second time, it is understood. Kavisha who set off from home last 29th saying that she was to attend a private class in Kurunegala town has failed to return home that day and her parents have lodged a complaint about it with police and when Alawwa police were in the process of conducting investigations in that respect her dead body was found this way the day after the girl has left home. She has not notified home-people about this journey and had only informed a friend of hers by SMS. 

The dead body of Kavisha who passed away from this incident was brought day before night to Nawathalwaththa, Alawwa where Kavisha lived thus downing all small and big in a sea of sorrow. Kavisha who came forward to help her friend ultimately end her life at the hands of a sinful brute.
