Bomber Inshaf ... main suspect in steel robbery amounting to 62 lakhs

It was revealed that millionaire businessman and suicide bomber of Cinnamon Grand on Easter Sunday,  Mohammed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed of Wellampitiya copper factory was the main suspect for a theft of a container of aluminium, bras and iron amounting to the value of 62 lakhs about which a case is being heard in magistrate court. This case is being heard in the presence of additional magistrate, Mrs. Kanchana Niranjana de Silva at Colombo magistrate court. 

The businessman by the name of Sandanam Joseph Anthony of No. 37/7, St. Benedict's Mawatha,
Kotahena, Colombo 13 has exposed matters related to this and has filed a complaint against Mohammed Inshaf Ahamed in the year 2013. The complaint says that container of aluminum, brass and iron to the value of Rs. sixty one lakhs, sixty six thousand five hundred and twenty five was robbed. Grandpass police have carried out inquiries in this connection and charges were made against businessman Mohammed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed and six other suspects and filed a case in court on May 30th, 2013. 

On the occasion when this case was called last January 29th, the main suspect in this instance, Mohommed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed of No. 658/90, Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda had been present in court. Other suspects named in this connection were, Abdul Cader Mohommed Mansoor of 654, Baseline Road, Dematagoda, Colombo 9, Mohommed Buhari Mohommed Zuhar of No. 84/4 O, Maligawattha ane, Colombo 10, Kodituwakku Hettiarachchige Athula Dassanayaka of No. 74/1, Waragoda Road, Kelaniya, Mohammed Nazeer Mohommed Aslam of No. 36/69, Nawaloka Udyanapura, Oliyamulla, Wattala, Nawagamuwa Devage Jinesh Nalaka of No. O 3/11, Samagipura Mahal Nivasa, Grandpass, Colombo 14 and Buddhi alias 'Kachcha' of Kotahena. 

When the case was called for the first time, all records regarding this were forwarded to attorney general and the 7th suspect of the case, Buddhi has been released, it was stated in court. As such,, Buddhi alias 'Kchcha' no longer is a suspect in this case and names of only six suspects are recorded in court. Grandpass police have informed court that in the instance this case was called last January 29th, a letter was forwarded to attorney general under WPL 6614 to request for instructions in this regard and that no response has been received till then. 

As the first suspect in this case, millionaire businessman, Mohommed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed has already has died as a victim of the suicide bomb incident in Cinnamon Grand Hotel on Easter day, only five persons remain as respondents in this case. The case is expected to be heard next September 10th.
