Muslims break down mosque in Kekirawa
Madatugama Muslim nationals and members of the main mosque had yesterday (29) got together and broken down a mosque which is supposed to be a place where a crowd of Thowheed Jamath Organisation used to worship.
What president of Madatugama Jumma Mosque, Mr. M.H.M. Amber Kahn said was that a person living in their hamlet has volunteered to set out a piece of land in order to build a library for children

Inhabitants of Madatugama area are thus seen how they are in the process of demolishing not only parts of the mosque concerned but even the boards written in Arabic letters. Villagers remarked that funds were received from overseas lands and the board placed there displayed a list of names in Arabic lettering of those who spent money in that connection and that they are not in a position to understand that lettering.
Mr. Mohammed Ameen, a villager from Madutugama said that this demolished mosque had no name as such and that it was known only as a mosque and that the Thowheed Jamath grup used to worship there. He further mentioned that anybody could come and pray at a main mosque. What those worshipping at Madatugama Jumma mosque said was that the close affinity they maintained with the Sinhalese people for a period of time made them face a serious state of destruction as a result. As such, they said that after compliance with with everybody in their hamlet have finally arrived at this decision.
