How 2019 Cricket World Cup was launched

2019 Cricket World Cup Tournament commenced yesterday in London, England in a simple manner. The ten teams and supporters who are contesting for this time gathered together in front of Buckingham Palace in middle London and thus celebrated the inaugural moment. On this occasion apart from the present Sri Lankan team ... it is of special interest to note that former
captain Mahela Jayawardena and athlete Damayanthi Darsha gracing the occasion. Former players were expected to present an item each and Mahela came forward to engage in batting from the spot where the artificial wicket was located at a place on the road. Former captain of the Australian team too was present at this particular moment and so was former West Indies captain, Vivian Richards. In the meantime, Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai who was the centre of attention the world over as well as Bollywood actress, Farhan Akthar too joined in. 

Subsequently, a special lunch was prepared at the royal palace on invitation of the queen on behalf of the 10 teams and Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry including members of the royal family joined in on this occasion. Cricket captains appeared for a group photograph with the queen. 

The 2019 World Cup will be seen all over England and cricket pitches in Wales from today (30) throughout two and a half months. Teams appearing for the tournament have not divided into categories and the first round has has been organised in a manner that all teams would be able to compete with other. The first match today will be between South Africa and England to be played at the Oval while the first match where Sri Lanka will meet New Zealand would be held in Cardiff on the 1st of June.
