ISIS connection revealed by hard disk found in shop of Abdul Haque brothers
The two brothers Abdul Haque, suspects of destroying Buddha statues have been identified as being active members of Thawheed Jamath Organisation and were taken into custody at Gampola recently. They were in fact arrested when hiding in a shop locked up from inside and much information has been extracted in investigations carried out with them.
This shop is a shoeshop and when police were conducting inquiries on the second floor on a hard disk
hidden inside a sewing machine used to stitch shoes, what was found in it were sermons by Saharan Hasheem of National Thawheed Jamath Organisation, documents of how to set up suicide bombs, preparation of war equipment, sermons by IS leaders, sermons relating to training suicide-terrorists, photographs of temples in this country, Buddhist literature and several photographs of representatives of Islamic organisations. There were video segments depicting IS members engaged in training in Syria, preparing war equipment and how suicide bombers are trained.
Mohammed Sadik Abdul Haque and Mohammed Shaheed Abdul Haque happened to be brothers of the same family and they are also two suspects of the incident of creating damage to Buddha statues in Mawanella. Information was revealed that younger brother Mohammed Shaheed Abdul Haque has received training in war for 58 days in Syria. Interrogation of both of them continue.
