On the aftermath and even several days later since the recent bomb attacks, roads were closed which caused inconvenience to the public at periods of time when VIP vehicles were travelling, thus limiting only a special section of urban protection. At the cabinet meeting presided by President Maithripala Sirisena on 21st, instructions were issued that roads be not closed this way, it is reported. As such, President's media division informed that instructions were issued to inform VIP protection service about this. In the instance when roads were closed in this manner last week, drivers had resorted to tooting their horns near Nelum Pokuna displaying their protest in that respect.
