Mahinda buys ticket and goes in Beliatta train

Opposition leader Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa travelled to Beliatta by train for the first time yesterday (10). In this connection a special celebration was held at Matara main railway station while flags of SLNF were found fluttering in front of the railway station. 

There was an official opening last 8th with minister Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga inclusive of state ministers such as Chamal Rajapaksa and Mahinda Amaraweera and some other opposition MPs in which
instance it was reported that protests by Mahinda supporters cropped up ... however in spite of the protests, the opening was successfully launched. 

Last afternoon mayor Mr. Ranjith Yasaratna and some MPs were present on the occasion of arrival of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa who welcomed him subsequent to which he was escorted to the said railway station amidst drum beats. After which Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa who inspected the epitaph concerned depicting foundation stone-laying of the new railway track then proceeded to the ticket counter and had bought a ticket after which he received blessings of the sangha. 

Subsequently Mr. Rajapaksa who placed his autograph at the main office of the station then was engaged in a tete-a-tete at the office till the train plying to Beliatta was to arrive. Around 6.10 in the evening the train to Beliatta approached Matara main railway station after which opposition leader Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa took his seat in the second compartment of the train and proceeded to Beliatta greeting public assembled on either side of the track. He thus received a warm welcome from those who had gathered at main stations and sub-stations such as Piladuwa. Weherahena, Kekanadura. Bambarenda and Wewurukannala.
