Ranil's wife opposes Gnanasara Thero being bailed out

Professor Maithri Wickremasingha, wife of Prime Minister Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha has taken steps to placing her signature for the written document of scholars asking that pardon not being given to Galabodaaththe Gnanasara Thero who is presently spending his time in jail for 6 years being convicted of being guilty for defaming the judiciary. Rumours are afloat that he is to be given pardon
next 4th under President's orders. 

Individuals as well as 252 organisations have with their signatures made an open request from President Maithripala Sirisena under the caption "Do not grant the President's pardon incorrectly"  and Mrs. Maithri Wickramasingha has placed her signature too. This is the first occasion where she has paced her signature in public in relation to an issue connected to Politics.
