Provincial Council member 'Raththaran' ... arrested for sexually abusing schoolgirl!!

South Provincial Council member of parliament, Krishantha Pushpakumara has been taken into police custody in connection with an incident of seriously sexually abusing a schoolgirl. 

This MP who is known by his pet name "Raththaran' has committed serious sexual abuse on a 16 year old girl inside a devala in Bataduwa, Akmeemana on February 23rd, after which guardians of the girl
had lodged a complaint with police. It is understood that he also has a devala. 

A such, when police were searching to arrest him, the MP has surrendered to police after which he was taken into custody and is expected to be produced before Galle Magistrate Court. The suspect MP incidentally represents Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna and is someone who is popular for reciting poems on political stages. Sometime back he has spoken to Minister Ranjan over telephone and because that dialogue was forwarded live; a talk flared up around media too.

This was not the first occasion when a Southern Province member of parliament was accused of crimes of this nature and it was reported ofa member of parliament who had abused 200 and has gone to the extent of throwing a party on behalf of his prowess.
