Young mother commits suicide by hanging on guava tree because of domestic problem ... after killing 7 month old child with a wire!

An incident where a mother kills the tender baby born from her own womb and kills her ownself was reported yesterday (27) from Dimbula area in Hatton. A young mother living in Rosseta which belongs to Dimbula - Pathana police division had early last morning killed her 7 month baby by strangling her son's neck with a wire and then proceeded to commit suicide by hanging on a guava

tree near her home.

The deceased in this instance is a twenty six year old married woman by the name of Kitnasimi Nithyakalyani and the seven month baby boy by the name of Sandeep Asvinthan. As a result of a domestic clash this woman has come out of the house at dawn yesterday and had murdered her baby child after which she has committed suicide herself,, it was revealed at preliminary inquiries, Dimbula - Pathana Police say. Dimbula - Pathana Police further say that the husband of deceased wife had injured himself with a sharp instrument and after being admitted to Kotagala Provincial Hospital was sent to Nuwara Eliya Basic Hospital for further treatment. 

The magistrate made an on the spot check on the two dead bodies. Dimbula Police who carry out investigations on this incident say that the deceased woman's husband has been engaged in a labour-job in Colombo and has come come home a few days before and that there were clashes on a number of occasions thereafter.
