Another side so far not revealed in connection with Sri Lanka narcotics associated with raids conducted in that respect taking place rapidly these days are being observed, it is reported.

When investigating the manner in which he gets the heroin, it was found that he in fact has operated a distributing officer connected to the large quantity of narcotics which was recently taken into custody in Dehiwala, it was reported. It is a well-known fact that 'small and big sharks' are hidden in narcotics operations as a result of the support given by security forces in the narcotics racket being launched in Sri Lanka. In the same way, suspicion whether heroin which is nabbed in some raids conducted are finding its way through an illicit route to be utilised in other business activities has emerged for a period of time.
The aforesaid husband and wife have sold this stock of heroin under various means, it has been revealed at present. After the suspect female was apprehended first with 100 grammes of heroin in her possession and her house was subjected to a search subsequently, it was possible to find 3 kilos of heroin and the constable in the house as well.
It finally came to light that this constable who was engaged in duty attached to Kelaniya Division Anti Corruption Unit instead of controlling corruption was he himself being involved in corruption. With this incident, it is a reminder to police about the essentiality of conducting an extensive survey about the police network that protects the underground regime of narcotics.
