A clandestine big scale brown sugar heroin racket operated within Wariyapola prisons with the use of mobile phones by the most leading suspect in the murder of karate exponent Wasantha Soysa, F.S. Lokka was busted and his foremost accomplice Rumy inclusive of five suspects were taken into custody on a raid conducted on the dawn of the 9th by the provincial raid launched under the deputy inspector general of police of

Mr. Prathap Sandungahawatta, attorney-at-law and deputy inspector of police in charge of North Central Province together with chief police inspector, Mr.Prabhath Gallage of the provincial vice-squad and a team of police officers had conducted a successful operation throughout day and night for several days after which they have been able to arrest the suspect concerned. Thus, the police were able to find 125 heroin grammes and 131 Kerala ganja grammes into their custody. Police say that the packet of brown sugar packet taken into custody which is suspected was as a type of narcotic contents which was free from any other substance mixed with it and is valued over Rs. 14 lakhs by way of market value.
If by chance if it was possible to this stock of narcotics, the suspects would be able to market it at about Rs. 50 lakhs, police said. Rumy who resides at Galwala junction in Saliyapura who happens to be the main suspect has smelt that police were on his trail had concealed the packet containing 106 grammes of brown sugar type of heroin and parcel containing 131 grammes of Kerala ganja and has been fleeing on the most modern type of high speed motor cycle given to him by S.F. Lokka to operate the business when he was pursued and his pah was blocked near the quarry site in Sravastipura and was taken into police custody.
This suspected person called Rumy had engaged in a strenuous fight with the police officers and had made a terrible effort to release himself from them; however, he Sravastipura iron bridge s brought under control and taken into custody. The suspect and a main accomplice of S.F. Lokka, the suspect living at Anuradhapura Technical Place (Mas maduwa) who came to know that Rumy has been arrested, had been fleeing across the Northern railway track hiding 10 heroin grammes in his possession when he was accosted by police. In addition, another suspect has been fleeing hiding 6 grammes of heroin and was arrested in ela area of Sravastipura. Yet another two suspects who had tried to hide 2 grammes and 600 milligrammes of heroin near Sravastipura iron bridge close to the Pulleyar statue were arrested and the motor cycle on which they came too was taken into police custody. S.F. Lokka who had no idea that his accomplices were arrested had been inside Wariyapola remand prison and watching the Sri Lanka - South Africa cricket match being played at Pallekelle International Cricket Playground day-before-yesterday (8) had been shouting at them using harsh words saying "yakko ... hide fifty grammes there ... hide 10 grammes at that place yakko", thus giving orders and was issuing directions of how to direct the business when all such remarks were revealed by police who overheard those responses in the process.
The moment he became aware that his accomplices were apprehended by police, the call was disconnected, it was revealed to police. Because the heroin business was being operated from within Anuradhapura prison, the suspect has been transferred to Wariyapola prison; however, police were able to understand that even from there he was directing his customary heroin business.
Suspect S.F. Lokka had been released on strict bail conditions by Anuradhapura High Court for having cut and chopped karate Wasantha Soysa and murdered him and for having caused damage to his nightclub and he was once more accused for having been in possession of a live hand-bomb and is in jail now for for the past 16 months.
