Sri Lanka had been successful in clinching a victory of 5 wickets in the 20/20 triangular tournament

which commenced at R.R. Premadasa Stadium. Sri Lanka who won the toss invited India first to occupy the crease and collected 175 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of the allotted 20 overs. Shikar Dhawan who engaged in a rapid batting display accumulated 90 runs in just 49 balls. He got his runs with 6 sixers and 6 fours. Manish Pandey scored 37. Dushmantha Chameera bagged 2 wickets in his spell.

The Sri Lankan team who batted in response achieved the set target in 18 overs and 3 balls with the loss of 5 wickets. Kusal Janith hammered a quick 66 in 37 balls and was finally run out.
