Someone who assisted in this work known as Nasranpattiyage Sureda Suraweera who in fact was his supporter known also as 'Sinhale Sureda' was a pioneer of Mahason Balakaya' which has been revealed by notes or commeents made by his ownself. Police further say that 81 suspects connected to incidents linked to Digana Pujapitiya have been taken into custody. The media spokesman said that 45 incidents have been reported from Kandy and that 2 persons have died from those incidents and that over 200 Muslim shops had been destroyed in the process. The media spokesman also mentioned that in order to get bail for persons who were arrested for crimes like this, special clauses have to be forwarded and that under sudden emergency situations coming under No. 01 of 2018 (various regulations and powers), steps are being taken.
