Did serpents come to Batticaloa as a premonition of Tsunami?
What was indicated by some photographs which circulated across the social media yesterday was a story of sea serpents d getting entangled in fishing nets in Batticaloa. Rumours have gone round that this portends an omen about a Tsunami. No specific scientific explanation has still been given about
these serpents as such.
Explanations have been published to the effect that they are not sea serpents but a type of eels and the point that eels do not get caught to fishing nets therefore the story of eels getting trapped in fishing nets is just a woven up story. Whatever it is, there is a possibility that after stormy, cyclonic conditions, living elements taking refuge in deep seas have the tendency to reach a top surface so as to get trapped in nets. It is assumed that it is this phenomenon which has taken place on the Eastern coast.
