What Dasun said was that 'he could not wait without that actress' -- story revealed by 2 friends in boarding-house
During the period teleactor Dasun's mother has made a revelation about the females connected to her son, what Sangeeth and Salinda who were in Dasun's company with him at the Pannipitiya boarding-house together until the day he died provide significant information after his death about this injustice.
Dasun Nishantha is the actor who hailed from Nittambuwa while Sangeeth Prabhu was from
Anuradhapura and Salinda Ratnayaka was from Moneragala. While conversing private matters in the boarding, Dasun had spoken about his love entanglements too with the two of them. While Salinda and Sangeeth have engaged in acting in Sal Sapuna teledrama, Salinda also happens to be a Co-director of the drama as well. It was Salinda who was better informed about the Dasun - Shalani affair. Following is what they said about this phenomenon:
This is what Sangeeth Prabhu said: "I came to know Dasun aiya through Salinda aiya. Later all 3 of us came to live in one house. Dasun aiya is someone who likes to live in a clean and orderly manner. I have even been scolded for having put things that I have taken ... here and there. But he does not have anything offensive in his heart although he reprimands like that. He's a very congenial type of person. Dasun aiya had a wide vision. Even when we had a problem ... it's with him that we talk about it. Can't even imagine that Dasun aiya who gives advice to us would do something like this.
I of course knew that Dasun aiya was married. But I didn't know much details about the connection he had with actress. Though Dasun aiya and Salinda aiya discussed problems like friends, I was treated as a malli. They didn't tell me their problems as such. The day before he died, we all had dinner together. The following day early morning Salinda aiya left. I also attended shooting at about 8 o'clock. At the time I was leaving, Dasun aiya was up. I had placed an order to get down an almirah. That afternoon they said that it was brought. I had told Dasun aiya to accept it if it was brought. After that I went. When I phoned in the afternoon and asked whether the almirah was brought; Dasun aiya replied that it has still not been brought and that he would accept it when brought. I called about half an hour later to Dasun aiya to check whether the almirah was brought. Though I called continuously, Dasun aiya didn't respond. Even by that time he had left us. I wonder whether he took this decision because of something which took place within the last few hours or because of some telephone call".
This is what Salinda Ratnayaka had to say about this: "I was the Co-director of the first teledrama 'Apeksha' in which Dasun acted. That friendship lasted till his death. Dasun is very cordial. About an year and a half back we went to that house. We had Sangeeth also join with us. It was about 11 in the night when I went, the day before Dasun died. Dasun and Sangeeth both have had dinner and were sleeping. As I brought some dinner, I woke both of them. Then all 3 of us had dinner and went to bed.
The next day when I left early morning at 5.30, Dasun was sleeping. Sangeeth also had gne by about 8.30 in the morning. It was Sangeeth who phoned me and said that a friend gave this unfortunate news. I stopped shooting that moment and went to the boarding. When I went there I saw Dasun hanging. I went and hugged the body and cried to see whether there was any life in him. But by that time Dasun had left us. I then phone our friends and gave the news.
Dasun had told me about the connection with that actress. Even by that time he was a married man. When I asked about it, what Dasun said was that he couldn't do without that actress. Dasun was with the staunch decision of finishing all problems and getting married to that actress. Though we are friends ... we don't make influences on each other's privacy.
It was after his death that I was able to see Dasun's mother and wife even having associated him so closely. Even though entangled in a problem, I didn't notice Dasun to have fallen into a level to the extent that he would take his life. For a continuous period of 10 days I used to leave in the morning and return at 10.00 in the night. During those 10 days we didn't have a chance to speak to each other at all. Did the problem aggravate during those 10 days; or else it happened during the time spent in loneliness on the day he died after I and Sangeeth had left? If not, I don't know whether Dasun got fed up of life because of a telephone call he got. It has been reported in the media that Dasun used narcotics and that the death was preplanned. Those stories are entirely wrong. It was to clear the doubt that I went through the video which Dasun had captured to check whether Dasun had actually hanged himself. If not I didn't have the proper mentality to to see it either.
