"From small days daughter likes Maithri Seeya" -- mother of Danulya the kid who went towards President from among the crowd ... speaks

Danulya who was in the company of her mother approached President Maithripala Sirisena when the President attended a certain rally held in the hamlet of Mirishena, Medirigiriya last 10th and the incident caught the camera. The mother of the small girl spoke to the media about this incident later.

The mother of Danulya happens to be from the hamlet called Amunugama in Medirigiriya and was a

Health Officer known as Mrs. Lakmali. "She's 3 years old. We have 2 children. She is the eldest. From the time she could understand things she used to say that she likes to see 'Maithri Seeya'. Whenever the President's image appears on the TV screen during news broadcasts she used to shout "there's Maithri Seeya!" and used to watch the programme. She used to worry appachchi always saying "this is the leader of Sri Lanka Maithri Seeya ... I want to go and see him".

When watching TV last 10th our mother has told daughter 'today President Seeya is coming here today'. Since the President was to arrive that morning in Mirishena we decided to attend the place. "Appachchi is coming with me to see Maithri Seeya ... want to see Mathri Seeya". So saying she used to keep worrying. We could not go near the stage. I kept daughter down. She then crept through the crowd and went near the stage. As soon as the President saw her, he had told instantly to let her come. After that what I saw was that daughter was seated on the President's lap. The President was engaged in a friendly chat and the President's Security officers asked me to stay close to that place. It was from a long time that daughter had a desire to see the President".

3 year old Danulya Chanadi was reclining on the President's lap and was enjoying the company for over 20 minutes without any disconcert and there were several media reportings about this incident.
