Wimal observes sil today in prison!
Member of Parliament Wimal Weeravansha who is remanded in Ward 'E' of Magazine Prison having been convicted of the offence of misappropriation of vehicles has observed sil today Duruthu Poya, it was reported.
It is customary for religious programmes to be conducted every Poya Day within the prison premises and when a paper was being taken around yesterday to secure the signatures of those who wished to participate, he was called and had been by told Wimal Weeravansha "include me also in the list". There had been 85 inmates in this instance and the majority of them were aged people, it was
understood.
As such, this morning Wimal who clad himself in an upper cloth and had gone in a queue with the aged persons who observed sil had entered the prison religious centre and after giving ear to the morning sermon had most solemnly walked away; as observed at the prison, it was revealed. In the meantime what the observer said was that the topic of the next sermon to follow was 'the results of wastage'. Wimal has participated in listening to that sermon too.
