'Mud' thrown that President is sick, by basing it on 'Astrological story'

An announcement has been directed to the Media by the Presidential Secretariat that a 'mud' story has been created by connecting it to the instance of the tour to Jaffna being cancelled which the President was to undertake today (4) connecting it to the forecast

associated with the 'Erashtaka Apalaya' affecting President Maithripala Sirisena and this forecast was made by an astrologer some weeks back.

The instance of several activities in Jaffna being postponed was made use of by several websites to create this abuse for political advantage. The attention of the Intelligence Units has been focused upon to instigate legal action against websites who published false news trying to create a disturbance within the country, thus attempting a threat to the security of the Senadinayaka,  the report further states.

The Presidential Secretariat has reported that as a result of misapplication of freedom of expression which has been permitted continuously and reporting false news it portends the collapse of the entire field of media.
