The budget proposals for the year 2017 had been passed in parliament after distributing money through cheques was what the Member of Parliament Mahindananda Aluthgamage had said.

He had quipped this while speaking at a media briefing organized by the members of the joint

opposition.

" A day before the budget within the Parliament cheques had been distributed....Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 2 lakhs.It is by giving "santhosum" to Members of Parliament only they managed to get 2/3rd majority."
