Various rumours were circulating around popular film star Pooja Umashamkar's marriage during the last few days and now we have received the genuine story about it.

35 year old Pooja had got engaged to a model by the name of Deepan Shanmuganathan in the year 2014 but since they said that there was no compatibility between him and her ideas, the marriage union was dropped. As such, her marriage ceremony was conducted yesterday (18) in Havelock Town, Wellawatta, Colombo in privacy according to Tamil customs and traditions. It was one Prashanth, a businessman who took her hand in marriage. News has been received that he enjoys popularity as someone connected to the tea industry and that he is of Indian Tamil origin. (Incidentally Pooja's mother is a Sinhalese while the father is an Indian Tamil). After the marriage she had set off overseas for the honeymoon that night itself. This wedding had been kept a secret from all comrades and fans and what she had remarked after the wedding was, "I'll tell more details once I come back to Sri Lanka".
