FCID established for one year would be undetermined after 31st

The period of one year of the Financial Crimes Investigating Unit ends this 31st of December.It is reported that whether to continue or terminate the unit is still uncertain and is in the balance.

In the cabinet meeting that was held on Tuesday 15 cabinet ministers have put forward a cabinet

paper suggesting to form a separate judiciary in lieu of the FCID.But a decision had not been arrived on this proposal.

In the month of February 2015 after a cabinet decision the FCID had been established until the 30th June ,the period had been extended up  to the 31st December.Although it had been proposed to form a unit similar to investigationg into large frauds it had not been established.
