Dhananjaya De Silva's resistance against pace attack of South Africa helps Sri Lanka to a some extent

On the second day of the First day of the First Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka played at Port Elizabeth although many of our batsmen were made to struggle Dhanajaya de Silva resisted resolutely against the three prong pace attack to be unbeaten on 43 when play was called off owing to bad light yesterday ( 27th) Sri

Lanka were 7 down for 181 runs.

The South African pace bowlers did not allow most Sri Lankan batsmen to settle down and were 7 wickets for 157 runs .Dhanajaya de Silva's unbeaten 43 helped them to to be 181 runs at the end of day's play.

Earlier in the day Sri Lankan bowlers captured the last four wickets of the South African's for only 19 runs.They were all out for 286 runs.

Today would be the third day's play in the Test match.
