The request made the following day by former Member of Parliament Tissa Atthanayaka who was in remand for the allegation that he had been involved in the offence for having tried to prepare false documents had said that he be released to visit his daughter in Australia from 25th December to 13th
January and it was rejected by courts. It was under the orders of Colombo Supreme Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena. Consent has not been granted by the Attorney General for this request because it was not a special reason as such and because the case is being heard daily from March.
