Youngster who had failed the Army interview succumbs by hanging

It is reported from the Talatuoya police division in the Kahabiliyawa  village area  that a youngster who had been called for an interview subsequent to his application made to the army had succumbed after hanging as he had failed at the interview.

The youngster who had died in this manner on the 12th instant is 19 year old Gannilegedera Sumith Kumara.It is reported that his father had died when he was young and the mother had left the house

after marrying another person.The dead youngster and his brother had been brought by their grandmother and the disabled aunt is the information revealed from the initial police investigations.

It has been revealed that this youngster had been doing odd jobs after leaving school and had been dreaming of joining the Army.The Talatuoya police had confirmed that he had committed suicide after he had failed in the Army interview.
