Two Sri Lankan students who wanted to click Selfies ... drowned in deep waters!
A Sri Lankan Sinhalese and Muslim student living in Oman who had gone on a weekend holiday in the company of their parents had met with an accident and passed away.
They had gone to visit Oman's popular En Garcias well-spring last evening and on that occasion one
student had attempted to click a Selfie of both of them together from a high position there. However at that moment both students had slipped their footing and had thus been carried down and had finally rested on the deep waters below. Since they were towards the edge of that lofty position, nobody was able to rescue them from falling down. After a heavy struggle when the bodies emerged to the surface it was found that both had died. Later the bodies were however admitted to Sultan Kwabus Hospital; but it was not possible to revive them.
This incident had taken place at approximately 6 last evening. The two victims have been identified as Ruwani Delsara Herath Samaraweera and Sainab. Ruwani had been attending an Indian International School in Oman while the other student had been studying at another private school and both of them were conversant in Sinhala and were two friends who attended Sinhala tuition classes together, it was reported.
