CID officers had taken bones not of slain Thajudeen -SAITM

On suspicion  the officers of the criminal investigation unit had raided the SAITM the private medical college in Malabe the other day. thinking that that bones of slain rugby player Wasim Thajudeen had been hidden at the private medical college SAITM.

Some bones that were lodged at SAITM had been taken to conduct DNA investigations.

In this regard the authorities of the SAITM had issued a notice that for the education of the medical students usually the bone parts are named.But they say that the bones that were taken away do not belong to the slain rugger player Wasim Thajudeen as he bones that were taken had been lodged at SAITM   before the death of Wasim Thajudeen.

In this related notice it has been stated that on the bones the names of the  dead persons are written for identification processes.

The  death of  Wasim Thajudeen  has occurred during the Mahinda Rajapaksa era and the judicial medical officer who conducted the autopsy was Judicial medical officer Dr Ananda Samarasekera who is the Vice Chancellor of the SAITM.

However it is now reported that he has taken leave and resigned from his post at the SAITM.
