Three-wheeler toplles and husband dies. Wife and daughter injured and hospitalised
As a result of the three-wheeler accident which happened on the main Hatton - Nuwara Eliya road early last morning at about 1.30 ended with the husband of the same family breathing his last and his wife with her daughter sustaining injuries.
The accident took place when a three-wheeler
strayed across the road in Talawakele Lindula Bairwell Tea Estate area and toppled down a precipice of about 25 feet. As a consequence of the accident, N. Fruston (29) the driver of the vehicle died on the spot while the injured two were dispatched to the Lindula National Hospital. The three victims had been on their way to Nagasena area to attend a ceremony at the house of one of their relatives when the tragic accident happened. It was understood that the toppled three-wheeler had fallen on a piece of bare land which had been prepared for the erection of a building. The police suspect that the cause for the accident could be that the driver had dozed off. Lindula Police are conducting investigations.
