Abduction of Bandaragama businessman ... revealed to be a hoax!

The story of a businessman from Atalugama area in Bandaragama had disappeared when he had gone to a jewellery auction in Kantalai causing pandemonium over the media day-before-yesterday and it has now been revealed that it is a hoax, with the businessman acting out a fake role. This businessman who was squeezed with unsurmountable debts owing money to
his creditors has given the impression that he had disappeared in this manner to avoid the creditors and thus lead them astray. This strategy he used was to evade the creditors but it was however revealed later.

This businessman named Mohammed Nafreen aged 35 years is a father of two children who had gone on a motor cycle accompanied by three others and had sought lodging in Kantalai had prepared to attend an auction at a State Bank. In the event that he had visited a nearby pharmacy he had missed his friends and after that there had been no clue about him, it was reported.

Nafreen's wife who expressed her ideas to the media mourning on the day of her husband's disappearance displayed her grief to the masses saying that there was no response from his phone, as was reported. Media personnel had been to the house yesterday to secure information about the incident to find to their surprise that she had changed and that she had instantly closed the door and had hid herself, it is understood. The businessman's father who was in a state of shock on the other hand had told the newspapermen that a fortune-teller had said that his son was expected to return home last evening. On the other hand what the police has exposed as the genuine reason for the disappearance was that the businessman in order to escape the debt problem amounting to over Rs. 100000 and to evade the creditors he had launched this strategy in connivance with his friends.

After his disappearance was notified, the cctv recordings were surveyed but no information about a kidnapping was observed. Subsequently the police on suspecting the discussion with the two accomplices who accompanied the businessman in Trincomalee were taken into custody and were interrogated on which occasion this fresh information was unravelled. At their confession they had said that this businessman in order to free himself from the grips of debt that he had faced, he had made an escape to Jaffna and had woven a bogus story that he had been ransacked of his money by robbers. This businessman who misled the entire country had not exposed this secret to the wife and his father either and the two of them had been told only after this incident was circulated across the media. After news that he was in Jaffna was revealed, the wife and his father had changed. The police investigations are underway to get at this businessman.
