Police investigate into a hand bomb found in Lyceum International
CCTV cameras deployed for investigations
A live imported hand bomb has been found in the vicinity of the swimming pool and the playground of the Lyceum international school Nugegoda.
When the Police emergency was informed the officials of the Kohuwela police had come to the spot .They had informed the
army bomb disposal squad who taken the bomb to a lonely area and fond it to be a hand bomb and taken safe methods to defuse it.
A spokesman of the police had said that in the event it had blown up would have resulted in a severe damage to lives in the thickly populated area.
The police is now conduction investigations to determine how the live hand bomb was placed at the spot using CCTV cameras. In this connection the police has sought the permission of the acting magistrate of the Nugegoda magistrate Vidura P Manchanayake .
It has not been known who had brought it in and for what purpose. Kohuwela police is conducting further investigations into it.
