Informal husband murders mother and daughter inside the house

A very pathetic news has been revealed from Wewelwatta ,Muragavilagama area in Ratnapura where an informal man who had lived in a house had chopped and hacked to death a woman and her daughter inside their house.

In the year 2013 the husband of the woman had been killed by a group of people. Later she had gone

into occupation to her ancestral house in Wewelwatta with an informal husband. From the formal deceased husband she has had two children and had lived with her mother.

The accused husband had lived from income derived from agricultural farming. She had received a sum of rupees three lakhs as compensation from courts  for the loss of her husband.She had deposited rupees on lakh each in the names of the two children and had kept the balance rupees one lakh for her own expenses.she had also purchased a television from this one lakh of rupees. Her two children were constantly coming to watch television programmes to her house.

On the 11th the deceased daughter had come to her house to watch television. As she had not attended school her grandmother had visited her house to see what the reason was. The daughter and mother had been found dead inside a room of the house.The  Wewelwatta police were informed of the deaths.

On the 12th instant the dead persons had been identified as 37 year old Surendran Sanjeewani and her daughter 13 year old Thalpathwan Shashikala.

The police suspect that the informal husband had been responsible for this crime. The suspect had fled the village and in this regard two police groups have been deployed to arrest him.

The Wewelwatta police are conducting investigations
