Prices and names of controlled prices of 16 essential items announced

In regard to the announcement by the government to have prices of essential items fixed and controlled the prices of milk powder, Chicken, sugar dhal including 16 consumer items have been gazetted.

In this regard the secretary to the ministry of Industries

and commerce TMKB Tennakoon had cautioned the retail merchants not to sell the essential consumer items appended below over the specified prices. If they do they would be punished under the existing price controlled laws in courts.

In this list the prices of maldi fish and green gram too have been stipulated. The prices of these essential items for a kilo gram are stated below:
