Attack on BanglaDesh restaurant foiled
There had been an attack by the ISIS on a restaurant in the diplomatic area of Gulshan in the town of Decca in BanglaDesh yesterday. The restaurant known as Holy Artisan was mostly patronised by Italians and 9 terrorists who entered the restaurant at about 9.30 in the night yesterday armed with weapons had scared the Manager and had taken those who were there as hostages. While the persons who were taken as hostages were kept inside under their custody by the terrorist group as hostages even until this morning, a certain BanglaDesh national who called on the phone had told police that if an attempt was made to surround the place, everyone would be killed. Though various statistics were published by the media about the number of hostages, one media had said that there were 35 of them and that 15 of them were BanglaDesh nationals. Out of the other 20 the Japanese Consulate office had informed that 5 were Japanese nationals and information has been received that 2 are Sri Lankan nationals as reported by the media by the Acting BanglaDesh Commissioner there.
According to BanglaDesh media the rescue mission had commenced around 7.40 in the morning today with the participation of 100 Commando soldiers and it was reported at 8.45 in the morning that 5 terrorists had died during this operation while 2 had fled and 1 was nabbed. BanglaDesh media reported that all hostages were transported to hospitals in ambulances. It has still not been conclusively reported whether there were any Sri Lankans among the hostages.
