Three killed in hand-grenade attack in Talangama - Update

The incident where a suicide exorcist who thus committed suicide while killing 2 women in Talangama area in the process sometime recently though came to be known was done with the

intention of securing the attention for an illicit association of a woman, according to information being revealed, the said murder is something which has gone beyond that and is supposed to have happened with a complex love story in its background, it has now come to light.

The exorcist who threw the hand-grenade is one 54 year old Pradeep Thushara Perera who had in fact started a a romance with one of the deceased women about one and a half years ago and had even messed up his own family life because of this woman, it was revealed from investigations. The exorcist is in fact a father of two children who had been involved with this woman who was a mother of four children and with his 18 year old son on coming to know of this clandestine affair had even committed suicide while the exorcist's wife had left him in the process.

Pradeep was a deserter of the Army and was someone who had been a 'Kapuwa' at a dewala in Mulleriyawa, also attending to land problems connected to his services. The said woman had come across him initially after seeing an advertisement published by him in the newspapers and had approached him for the purpose of disentangling an issue where she had not been able to sell a land belonging to her which was supposed to have been bewitched.

The deceased 41 year old Buddhika Nilangani Walpola it is understood was a wealthy woman who was an heiress to a recognised set of assets. Walpola Walauwa in Koswatta incidentally belongs to her grandfather. Her husband had deserted her since he had got involved in an illicit affair elsewhere. After he had left her, she had brought up the four children with earnings from the lands and on certain days she had covered up her expenses by selling the lands at her disposal. It was in this manner that she had gone to meet Pradeep for the first time to solve her issue regarding her bewitched piece of land. Pradeep in turn had found a solution in hastening to sell the said large land for a price of 9 crores by disposing of whatever spells were connected to the land and he was supposed to be paid a sum amounting to rupees one million. After the deal of the land was successfully put through Buddhika had told Pradeep that she wished to secure his services to get back her husband with the aid of Pradeep's voodoo magic. As such, Pradeep had consented to carry out a certain voodoo procedure and she had been from time to time meeting Pradeep and finally he had developed an intimate relationship with her. He had thus later wished to strike up a close relationship with her either having seen her wealth or actually because he loved her. Even until his death he had refrained from asking her the fee of one million he was to get on the land deal.
