The grant of government’s Rs 15 lakhs to a cancer patient made unlimited
It is reported that the allocation of the government towards the treatment of a cancer patient of rupees fifteen lakhs has been extended to an unlimited amount.
In this regard the minister of health Dr Rajitha Senaratne has given instructions to the related
authorities. Accordingly the Secretary to the ministry of health Anura Jayawickrema and the Director General of Health services Dr Maheepala Herath have been informed.
It had been found that the amount allocated to date of rupees fifteen lakhs is insufficient which had resulted in more deaths.For the cancer patient to recover and live longer this decision has been taken to allocate unlimited funds.
These funds would be channeled via the independent health service.
