Kosgama Blast - 1082 houses robbed
On an Emergency announcement launched by the Army and the Police when the ammunition depot of the Kosgama Salawa Army Camp exploded sometime back, most people scampered leaving their homes and some had
fled even forgetting to lock the doors of their homes. Under these circumstances 1082 houses have been broken into by robbers during that period, it has now been reported.
It is also understood that the looters had on that confusing occasion removed those valuables giving an outward impression that those were their belongings without leaving room of an inkling of suspicion to others, it is learnt. Invaluable articles such as jewellery and cash in the houses had been robbed and it has been revealed at police investigations that even LED television sets had been removed from certain houses.
Kosgama and several police stations have received complaints about these robberies and at certain locations the robberies had taken place by organised gangs, information has been received. Police investigations are underway.
