Eastern Chief Minister abusing uniformed officer - Update 3

Eastern Province Chief Minister Nazeer Ahamed who was entangled in an issue involving a case of reprimanding a Navy Officer recently had attended a lunch held at the Trincomalee Navy
Camp yesterday (02).

On the occasion when Mr. H. Ishwaran, a Minister of the Singapore government was hosted for a lunch, he was invited for this function while the Eastern Province Chief Minister as well as Mr. Malik Samarawickrema, Minister of International Trade Activities also participated. What the Eastern Province Chief Minister had mentioned was, "the Navy had invited for a luncheon .... truly a fine lunch for everybody". Whatever it is, what the Sanghanayaka Thero Ampitiya Sumanaratana Thero for both regions of Batticaloa and Amparai who made a criticism in connection with this treatment said is as follows:

"Though we were harassed by the Tigers for a number of years, nobody invited us to their camps and gave us a single meal. When we saw across the media that the Chief Minister who reprimanded the Navy Officer ate and drank well at the camp .... we feel sorry and sad. The entire Sinhala Community has been betrayed and finished. If the necks of the Sinhalese is severed any further ... what has to be done is to stay in hiding. When we come forward regarding it .. our own fellows give to eat and soothe them ... nothing can be done".
