By now they have been retained at a kovil in the same estate.

In the meantime because of the water level of Kala Oya rising, the Puttalam - Mannar road has come under floods from Eluwankulama area.

Spill gates being opened:
The Centre for Disaster Management has informed that 5 spill gates each of the Uda Walawe Reservoir and Deduru Oya Reservoir has been opened. The Puttalam Disaster Management Unit informs that 5 spill gates of Deduru Oya have been released. The Puttalam District Disaster Management Unit says that the water levels of the reservoirs of Inginimitiya, Rajangana and Thabbowa could go up.

Weather report:
Since the depression zone which has become stabilized in the atmosphere close to the island and is localised near the Batticaloa beach, the Meteorological Department announces that the prevalent rainy condition could aggravate. As a consequence, heavy showers resulting in something close upon 150 mm. could result and strong blowing around the coastal areas could escalate spontaneously somewhere between 70 and 80 kilometres.

The nature of the unsettled nature  which was localised in the atmosphere close to Sri Lanka has now developed into a state of a zone of depression and has been localized North East of the island. It is expected that it would further develop gradually into a low pressure zone and while influencing areas around, weather conditions around coastal areas would be travelling close to the island. As a result, a situation where rain and wind could be expected in the country and in coastal areas as well could be anticipated in future. Continuous rain could be expected particularly in the island and in sea areas in the island or even rain accompanying thunder.
