Owing to the national calamity all leave of government servants cancelled

The Minister of public administration and internal affairs Vajira Abeywardena  has issued a circular to the affect that all leave of government officers have been cancelled in order for them to engage in

the relief activities of those affected due to floods and landslides.

The Minister has also requested all government officers to work  on the clock for 24 hours a day in respect of relief operations.

In this regard the service of  25 Government Agents, 332 Divisional Secretariats and 14022 Grama Niladari personnel have been deployed for this task to coordinate the relief activities.

The Minister has also requested the public to hand over any relief articles to the nearest Divisional Secretariat offices and Regional Secretariat offices which would be distributed among the victims.
