Former senior DIG Anura Senanayake questioned on Thajudeen's death 

 The popular Rugby player Wasim Thajudeen was reported to have died in motor accident having been burnt when his car had crashed on to a parapet wall near Shalika grounds in Narahenpita. The police report submitted by the Office in
Charge of traffic Narahenpita was handed over to courts.

The OIC traffic who reported this incident which occurred in the year 2012 was questioned after almost four years  after the body of Wasim Thajudeem was exhumed. The investigations had revealed the Rugby player had died not by that accident but in a different manner.

In this connection when the CID had questioned the then OIC of the Narahenpita police he had said that a fictitious report had been submitted as per instructions of his higher authorities.In this context former senior deputy inspector general of police Anura Senanayake had been questioned by the CID on the19th instant for a number of hours.The allegation against him had been for ordering to conceal the facts of the death.

The CID is to question a number of witnesses very soon. The authorities of the CID had added that after they are questioned and reports are released ,those who are guilty would be remanded.
