Three lakhs of lunch parcels are required for displaced persons in Colombo and Gampaha districts

The officials of the Disaster Management Centre had disclosed that for the displaced persons in the Colombo and Gampaha districts about three hundred thousand of lunch parcels alone are

required for the lunch meal.

The expenditure is met via the assistance of the private sector, government and the civil organizations it was reported by the related authorities of the Disaster Management Centre.This amount of parcels are only for lunch.

However the saddest part is that still the rescue teams are still unable to reach some victims who are marooned by the flood waters.

It is also reported by that for a day about a sum of rupees 9 million is required to meet the expenses for food alone to the displaced persons.
