Fernando ha added that reports that had surfaced saying that the supplementary estimates for two bullet proof VIP cars for the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe had not been rupees 600 million.

In this regard the allegation drawn by the Leader of the Janath Vimukthi Peramuna, Anura Kumara Dissanayake that the supplementary estimate quoted for the two bullet proof VIP cars ordered for the Prime Minister is not rupees 600 million but only a sum of rupees 128 million.

This had been added at a UNP meeting held at the Siri Kotha on the 11th instant today.The Minister had added that the Leader of the JVP had with this tried to sling mud at the UNP.He had added that these two crs had been ordered by the security division of the Prime Minister's office and even without the knowledge of the Prime Minister.

It was further emphasized by Harin Fernando that the Prime Minister had been using his present car for about 10 years and for repairs itself would cost about 05 lakhs of rupees and hence this decision had been taken by the security division to order two bullet proof cars.In addition the Prime Minister would also be paying taxes directly to the government on importation of these cars was added by the Minister.
