Basil has been arrested because of VAT increase - Wimal

The leader of the National Freedom Alliance and Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa had added that the former Minister of economic development had been arrested under the money laundering act in order to focus the attention of the general public to cover up for the increase of the VAT and the national building tax increased by the government.

According the Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa the government needed to deploy this  political ploy to cover against the  severe protest made by the general public in increasing the VAT and the nation building tax.

Wimal Weerwansa had issued a notice in this regard.He had also stated that in the unofficial web site of the National Freedom Alliance this had been predicted a few days earlier.
