Two young women knocked down on a pedestrian crossing near the 'kesel kole handiya' bus halt in Rajagiriya

In Diyana Uyana, Rajagiriya near the 'Kesel Kole Handiya' bus halt a vehicle driven in a careless manner had knocked down two pedestrians ( young women) .The two young women had been seriously injured and admitted to the national hospital Colombo for treatment.

The two who were injured via this accident on the morning of the  Poya day, the 22nd instant are

residents of Dehiwala and were in the ages of 21 and 23 years.

The Police had reported that these two young women had gone with two other young women to attend to a birthday party at a house in Diyana Uyana. The accident had occurred when they were crossing the road through a yellow pedestrian crossing.

The driver of the motor vehicle had been arrested after the accident.

In this connection under the instructions of the Office in Charge of Welkada Police Sudath Asmadala Sub Inspector of Police Mahawatta and his team are conducting investigations into the  unfortunate accident .
