Public Health Inspector injected with anti rabies injection by a drunkard

A group of public health inspectors had been carrying on a door to door anti rabies injection programme in the Giriulla, Narangoda area. Two

drunkards had been traveling on a  motor bike had stopped and one drunkard had forcibly taken a syringe from one inspector and had injected anti babies injection to him.

As a result the public health inspector had been admitted to the Dambadeniya hospital in the night of the 7th instant for treatment.One drunkard who is a resident of the area had been apprehended , while the other had fled the scene.

What really had  happened was the two persons who were drunk had stopped at a point where the public health inspectors were injecting anti rabies injection to a dog. The two  have had an argument and had dragged a syringe and injected the anti rabies into a public heath inspector.

The officer in charge of Giriulla police station, Inspector of police Prasad Madanayake and his team  had been able to arrest one suspect who was hiding.He is to be produced before the Giriulla magistrate shortly.
