Dhammika Rantunga served summons for threatening the media

For the incident of threatening a media personnel the Chairman of the Ports Authority Dhammika Ranatunga had been served summons on the 17th instant to appear in court on the 24th March by the Chief Magistrate
of the Colombo Magistrates courts.

This is after a complaint had been made by the judiciary Rupavahini  staff cameraman Subramaniam Gunaratnam to the Keselwatta police station.The details of the complaint had been notified to the Chief Magistrates courts and summons had been issued after a careful study of the complaint by of the Chief Magistrate.

On the 16th instant when Dhammika Ranatunga had gone to Magistrates courts to hear the case of his younger brother Nishantha Ranatunga this incident had taken place when the Judiciary staff reporter of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini corporation had attempted to video Dhammika Ranatunga.What had happened was Dhammika Ranatunga had not allowed the cameramen to video him,instead he had argued with him and had taken live pictures of the cameraman from his own mobile phone.He had said that the cameramen had no write to video him.This incident had been camplained to the Keselwatta police by the staff cameraman attached to the judiciary of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini corporation, Subramaniam Gunaratnam

Dhammika Ranatunga is the eldest of the Ranatunga brothers.
